The new rules for efficiency: ProVU - One controller, two control loops.

Automated Control Engineering (A.C.E.) and WEST introduce a new economic two-in-one concept, the new generation of the ProVU temperature and industrial controller. The controller now comes with extended functionality; with two independent control loops in one unit, making the ProVU a particularly efficient solution for industrial processes.

The ProVU temperature and industrial controller features a versatile programmer with 2 profiles, enabling 64 different programs with 255 segments to be stored in the unit. Examples of application areas for the compact controller are climatic chambers, autoclaves, and industrial furnaces.

Thanks to the additional control loops and the comprehensive control & monitoring functions, fewer individual controllers will be required for demanding applications. In this way, the ProVU cuts hardware and installation costs.

AMCI EXPANDS SELECTION OF SIZE 11 RESOLVERS

Automated Control Engineering Group (A.C.E.) and AMCI announces recent mechanical advancements made to the R11 (size 11 resolvers) that increase reliability and maximize equipment uptime.

Available with over 50 different configurations, AMCI’s industry standard size 11 resolvers are easily crossed as direct replacement resolvers in a number of applications. The new advancements offer expanded selection and compatibility for OEM, military and other applications, including radiation hardened, submersible, and gearhead units.

AMCI can customize any R11 resolver for OEM and large volume customers. Customizations include:

  • Shaft Details (length, width, flats, etc.)
  • Wiring (lead length, wire type, and termination)
  • Mechanical (mounting options, custom bodies, environmental sealing to IP67)
  • Radiation Hardened
  • Gearhead Units
  • Submersible
  • Electrical Characteristics

ASM PMIR7 & PMIS4 Incremental Magnetic Ring Encoder

Automated Control Engineering Group (A.C.E.) and ASM announce the addition of new magnetic encoder rings, PMIR7 & PMIS4 series, to the POSIROT® family. These incremental encoder magnetic rings are available in three sizes to accommodate different shaft sizes and yield up to 184,320 pulses per revolution in conjunction with the quadrature encoder read head, PMIS4 series. Both units were designed to operate in harsh environments.

This non-contact incremental encoder system consists of a magnetoresistive read head, PMIS4, and a dual channel magnetic ring, PMIR7. The sensor head is completely enclosed in a metal housing and generates the industry standard A, B, Z output pulses for quadrature detection with reference mark. The PMIR7 magnetic rings come in three sizes that can be quickly press-fitted onto 27, 35 or 50 mm shaft diameters. This precise and robust encoder system can generate up to 184,320 pulses per revolution. The side tracking tolerance of this magnetic encoder is +/- 1 mm.

The shielded metal housing of the compact PMIS4 sensor read head offers a high level of protection against EMC interference and thermal overload. The enclosure has an IP67 rating to protect against dirty environments. Since this encoder operates magnetically, the read head still functions even when the magnetic scale is operated in dirty industrial environments with contamination such as oil and dust.
