New MEMS-Based Tilt Sensor POSITILT® - ASM PTAM2

ASM and Automated Control Engineering (ACE) introduce a new, innovative tilt sensor series, PTAM2, with ranges from ±5° to ±180° for single axis and from ±5° to ±60° for dual axes in a robust, IP67/IP69K rated all-metal housing. This industrial grade sensor provides a high resolution, linear output signal that is proportional to the inclination angle. The PTAM2 series has been tested to withstand harsh conditions which makes it suitable for a wide range of applications such as factory automation machines, robotics, mobile cranes, draw bridges, adjustable platforms and off-highway construction equipment.

The PTAM2 series is the latest addition to the POSITILT® family and is available with four different absolute analog outputs: 0.5-10V, 4-20mA, voltage sine(x) and CANopen with a typical resolution of 0.05°. Limit switch outputs are also available. The output signal response time is available from 0.1 – 2.0 seconds, in 0.1 second increments. The measurement ranges are available from ±5° to ±180° in 5° increments. The compact 36 mm (1.4 inch) diameter housing with servo flange mounting allows for quick and easy installation.

Since the PTAM2 is based upon non-contact and therefore wear-free, MEMS position sensor technology, it offers significantly increased reliability in extreme environments, especially under high mechanical shock conditions.

Pepperl+Fuchs - High-Temperature Sensor Cordsets and Cables

Automated Control Engineering (ACE) introduce the new Pepperl+Fuchs cables and cordsets for high-temperature environments. With improved resistance to weld slag, the cables can handle temperature ranges of -40 degrees C up to +150 degrees C for extended time periods of up to 3000 hours.

The cables and cordsets are constructed of a TPE class jacket material and a temperature resistant conductor insulation material (ETFE). This provides temperature resistance at the jacket, and at the conductor insulation levels. They are resistant to temperature, weather, fuels, oils, and abrasion.

Many industrial applications are high temperature applications (welding, paint drying ovens, etc) and they require cables and cordsets that can withstand extreme temperatures. These new high temperature products from Pepperl+Fuchs can provide the solution.

Product Features:

  • Models available in all standard 4-wire configurations
    o M12 (V1) & M8 (V3)
    o Single ended & extension

  • Cable material TPE

Incremental Encoder RI 64

Automated Control Engineering Group (A.C.E.) and Hengstler introduce the new incremental encoder RI64. The RI64 has a robust design making it high shock and vibration resistant. The incremental encoder is commonly used for feedback in asynchronous motors and industrial applications.

The RI64 incremental encoder is available in two shaft types; through hollow shaft and hubshaft, with shaft diameters up to 16 mm. The shafts are electrically insulated, which provides protection from shaft currents.

The protection class of the incremental encoders is IP64 or IP67 and they have a high temperature range of -40°C ... + 100°C. The RI64 has a maximum pulse frequency of 300 kHz and provide a PPR of up to 5000.
  • Housing diameter 63 mm
  • Weight approx. 180 g
  • IP64 or IP67 protection class
  • 100 m/s² vibration resistance
  • 1000 m/s² shock resistance
  • Operating temperature -40 °C ... +100 °C
  • Max. pulse frequency 300 kHz
  • Number of pulses 1 ... 5000
  • Supply voltage DC 5 V ±10 % DC 5 - 26 V
