MPUL06 Ultrasonic Level Transducer

Automated Control Engineering (A.C.E.) and Rittmeyer introduce the MPUL06 Ultrasonic Level Transducer. The MPUL06 is used for determining and transmitting liquid levels from within open or enclosed vessels.

The MPUL06’s compact design includes; the level sensing transducer, temperature compensation transducer to ensure accurate level indications throughout the temperature range and electronic circuitry, in a totally encapsulated and virtually chemically inert casing. The casing consists of an ABS electronics housing and a Tefzel™ nose fitting. LED’s are fitted to the MPUL06 casing to verify that the assembly is functioning properly.
  • Range: 250 mm to 6 m in liquids at 23°C

Vision Sensor BIS510 – No.1 for Sheet Verification

Automated Control Engineering Group (A.C.E.) is now distributing the new Pepperl+Fuchs BIS510 Vision Senor. The BIS510 vision sensor detects the correctness of paper sheets by image and code matching, using only one vision sensor.

The new vision sensor BIS510 from Pepperl+Fuchs verifies the correctness of sheets in collating, folding and binding machines.

The BIS510 vision sensor combines the benefits of vision systems and sensors. It is an independent vision sensor that contains a high-resolution camera and a control interface. There is no need for a separate control interface, so the sensor is smaller and less expensive, making mechanical integration easier.

The vision sensor monitors the sheet sequence on the basis of the print image. The first sheet is automatically “taught-in” and then compared with subsequent sheets. The sensor can implement sheet verification at maximum speeds of up to 4 m/s and 10 sheets/s and is well-equipped to cope with future post-press machines.

Benefits:
  • Image and code matching in one sensor reduces installation requirements
  • Reads barcodes vertically and horizontally, data matrix codes omni-directionally
  • Automatic teach-in of reference sheet reduces operator workload and changeover time
  • Optimal illumination ensures reliable detection even on reflective surfaces
  • High reading speed up to 4 m/s with a maximum of 10 sheets/s

Inductive Position Coding System PCI

Automated Control Engineering Group (A.C.E.) is now distributing the newly developed Pepperl+Fuchs PCI inductive position coding system. The PCI inductive position coding system has been developed for specifically for angle measurement and is the perfect solution for measuring angles in rotary joints and slewing bearings.

The sensor detects several steel pins along a code rail and calculates the absolute rotation angle position of the bearing. The exact position is available without a reference run after switching on the inductive position coding system. This is ideal for intermittent operation of plant machinery.

Benefits of the PCI system:
  • Insensitive to dirt, oil and grease
  • Wear-free
  • Slip-free
  • Low maintenance
  • Absolute measurements
The inductive position coding system offers clear added value for use in rotary joints in heavy machine construction, especially when compared to conventional measuring systems. The non-contact inductive functional principle is a proven solution and is wear-free. Mechanical coupling to rotating bearing elements is eliminated, so there are no measurement errors due to slip or environmental contaminants.
