SU18 Series Fiber Optic Sensors

Automated Control Engineering Group (A.C.E.) are now regionally distributing the new range of Pepperl+Fuchs user-friendly fiber optic sensors; SU18 series. Basic Line SU18 series for standard applications is the fastest sensor in its class.

The highly visible dual display assists with sensor setup, monitors signal stability, and during operation indicates if a critical function reserve value is reached. The user can easily switch between three operating modes by DIP switch, without additional programming. Exceptional features include the high-speed mode for fast object detection and the high resolution mode for low contrasts.

As part of the SU18 range is the SU18/35 high power fiber optic sensor for remote range applications. The SU18/35 combines the basic unit with high power and a long sensing range of more than 1.5 m, offering the performance of a high-end sensor in a basic model. The sensor is ideal for applications where dirt, grease and grime are present. High performance optics provide functional safety.

Benefits at a glance:
  • Four versions available: SU18 Standard and SU18/35 High Power, each with teach-in and AGC or potentiometer
  • AGC (Automatic Gain Control) for foolproof and faster teach-in
  • Clear indication of signal status and function reserve on dual display
  • Various operating modes and selectable timer functions tailored to specific applications
  • Narrow 9 mm enclosure enables the mounting of more sensors with the same amount of available space
